Kleine Geschenke….

I hope you all had a woderful first day of spring – it really doesn’t feel like spring here at all! Berlin is wrapped in a white blanket of snow – I wish it had looked like this for Christmas – but now that it is almost Easter? 😉

In the spring catalog is a new „pinwheel“ die – I just had to give it a try for a few Little „Thank you“ Goodies I made for a couple of friends

Außerdem kam das Sale-A-Bration Stempelset „Gemusterte Grüße“ zum Einsatz und das SAB Designer Papier „Bunter Basar“.

I also used the Sale-A-Bration stampset „Patterned Occasions“ and the Special SAB-Designer Paper „Sycamore Street“.

For the mini-milk cartons I used cardstock in „Pool Party“ and „Summer Starfruit“ and the Elephants were stamped in „Rich Razzleberry“ and „Pool Party“ and I used Stampin‘ Write Markers in „Summer Starfruit“ and „Tangerine Tango“ for the little flower and the Sentiment.

I hope you all will have a great reat of the week – stay warm and keep the hope up – spring will hopefully show up sometime soon! 🙂

My dad had his birthday last week and of course I wanted to come up with something special for him. Years ago he used to have one of the coolest sweet water fish tanks you can imagine – it was gorgeous, with a ton of diffrent plants and fish and I always loved to watch how much love and effort he put into taking care of it. The fish tank is long gone but I wanted the box for my present to be sort of a reminder of it. So I wrecked my brain and after quite some tinkering I came up with this – tatá!:

Pralinen-Verpackung

A pretty resistend and easy to take care of Mini-Fishtank in a lid for a box of pralines. 🙂

I created the box with Island Indigo cardstock according to the measurements of the box that my present came in – a box full of  ginger pralines from a chocolate maufacturer here in Berlin. (I forgot to add a picture of the content of the box!) The „fish tank“ is kind of and insert that you put on top of the pralines inside the box and then you close the box with a lid made out of clear plastic foil.

Pralinen-Verpackung1

I used three different stamp sets: For the sea creatures & the ancor I used „By The Tide“ from Stampin‘ Up!s spring catalog and the Birthday greeting is from the stamp set „Itty Bitty Banners“. During Sale-A-Bration you can actually get this one for free!. The background was stamped with white Craft ink and the „bubble-stamp“ from the stamp set „Confetti“.

Pralinen-Verpackung2

The corals were heat embossed with white on clear plastic foil. For the sea creatures I used StazOn ink and stamped the images a couple of times before coloring them with diffrent inkpads and an Aqua Painter. Then I cut them out and used Stampin‘ Dimensionals to create kind of a 3D look. For wrapping the box I used Bakers Twine in Island Indigo.

I sat a whole night to finish this box – as always it took longer than expected but I hope he like it. I at least had a whole lot of fun creating it 🙂

Inspiration im Nachhinein… / Inspiration after the fact…

I’ve seen again and again that people show pictures on their creative blogs that inspired their art work…

I am going to do that too – just a little diffrent: Today I am going to show you a picture that reminded me after the fact of some cards that I cased from other creative minds 🙂

Also hier das Bild / So this is the picture:

Blog-Foto

And this is the card I cased from Jenni Pauli:

IMG_6865

If I wasn’t such an honest soul I could have fooled you into believing that the photograph of my little princes was the source of inspiration for the card, right? 😉

Since I loved Jenni’s idea I made a little box that fit her design. You can find the measurements and a video tutorial for the box at Steffi’s Stempelwiese (in  German!):

Geöffnet sieht das Ganze dann so aus: / This is what it looks like when you open it:

IMG_6864

and if you add the card it’s a cute little gift set, don’t you think?

IMG_6866

At a workshop with friend we cased another similar card I had seen on Jenni’s Blog that was created by one of her team memberts – I have no clue who it was – so contact me if you recognize your beautiful creation and I can link your blog! For now I will only link Jenni’s post with a picture of the original card *click 🙂

IMG_6867

and since I enjoy uploading pictures so much 😉 … another picture of card and box set:

Habt noch ein schönes Wochenende!

Have a nice weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving…

We celebrated Thanksgiving today and I spent the last 2 days  in the kitchen getting ready for the big feast and – yay! – it’s done! The turkey was juicy and tender, the sweet potatoes yummy, the green bean casserole turned out okay even though I wasn’t able to find any Condensed Cream of Mushroom soup here in Good Old Germany. The pumpkin pie turned out super delicious (*tooting my own horn here 🙂 ). It was yummy and good and I’m glad that it won’t happen again until next year ;). We were only 4 adults, 2 kids and a baby and I have so many left overs that I don’t think I will have to worry about cooking dinners for the next couple of days!

Due to all the preparations for the feast and preparations for another workshop I didn’t really find the time to continue blogging. That’s why you haven’t seen anything since Halloween. I apologize and hope to change!

Now that I already whet your appetite with food let me also tickle you with some  „creative munchies“: Two chocolate boxes

To purchase these little metal boxes I took part in a group order and just tried them with an order of only 10 – I wanted to see what they looked like first- and now I already regret having bought just so few. In a box like these and with a little bit of creativity a simple bar of chocolate can turn into a cute little present.

That was it for today – I have to go lay down and digest the turkey now! 😉

Hope you had a Happy Halloween!

So  Halloween is really over now! We carved the pumpkins and our children were super excited about all the candy they were able to „beg“ for on Halloween night.

Since both of my sons are attending an international school and kindergarden Halloween is a pretty big thing for them. This year was the first time that I made a litte treat for their teachers as well that I wanted to share with you:

Since I also was holding my weekly team-meeting with all of my employeed in the practice on Halloween day, they also received one of these „spooky treats“ and the sweets sourrounding them were given to our little patients who came for their speech therapy sessions. 🙂

And of course I made a list with all materials I used:

120890 Bigz L Knallbonbon

120889 Prägeform Spinnennetz

119253 1/8″ (3,2mm) Taft-Geschenkband Kürbisgelb

121689 Farbkarton A4 Anthrazitgrau

126981 Stempelfarbe Anthrazitgrau

121688 Farbkarton A4 Schwarz

106549 Farbkarton A4 Flüsterweiß

126945 Stempelfarbe Kürbisgelb

128063 Stempelset „Googly Ghouls“ (clear) oder 128060 (Holz)

129558 Stempelset für Gastgeberinnen „Peppiges Potpourri“

127539 Wackelaugen

To bad  that the fun is already over again. Next year I will be ready in time – I have soooo many more ideas! 🙂
