Since I can’t seem to find the time for crafting right now and I don’t want to leave you without any postings, I am going to show you some more of my scrapbook pages that I made for my olderst son’s scrapbook (long before the stamping and card making addiction got a hold of me 😉 )

What an exciting event – Silas got to ride on an excavator – that stayed with him for months and even today this is one of his favorite scrapbook pages. I printend the designer paper, the frames and letters, actually all embellishments are printed and cut out except the eyelets. And I used my sowing machine for the stiches…

Here’s the same idea – a so called hybrid layout – all designer papers and most of the embellishments are printed up from digital scrapbooking files.

Here I also printed the sugar cane swirls on photo paper and cut them all with plain scissors – quite tricky, but it was worth it, don’t you think?

The header is a fun computer font that I printed up and cut into a tag. The pictures are all cut so that the drawing was actually cut out and I inserted parts of the original drawing instead – so everything you see that looks like a kids drawing is actually an „original Silas“ – and the handprint is from the time the drawings were made – real size. (Does that all make sense?) Anyway… It adds to the personal touch of the layout, I think.

Sooo many picture and I just couldn’t decide which ones to use – so I basically used them all 😉

The picture were taken by a press photographer during an opening of an exhibition by the German speech and hearing association (deutscher Bundesverband für Logopädie dbl). He couldn’t stop following my son around and kept taking pictures wherever Silas went. Then I was asked to allow the association to use the pictures on their website.. and of course I agreed after I made them promise that I would get to keep copies of all of them 🙂 Even today you can see the picture on some websites and magazines…. For example here.
