Flashback Friday…

… den Begriff habe ich jetzt schon auf einigen Blogs gelesen und dann wird immer ein Projekt mit einem alten Stempelset gezeigt – die, die ihr alle noch bei Euch zuhause liegen hat, die aber keiner mehr zeigt, weil sie eben nicht im aktuellen Katalog zu finden sind. Ich finde das eine tolle Idee, denn schließlich hat man da ja schon ein paar Schätze angesammelt, die sich dann und wann auch mal darüber freuen, wieder ans Tageslicht geholt und ein bisschen benutzt zu werden… Deshalb heute auch hier ein „Flashback Friday“ 🙂

… I’ve read that term a couple of times on different Blogs and it usually referrs to Projects created with old stamp sets – those you have laying at home somewhere but you don’t find any new ideas on any blogs anymore since you can’t find those in the updated catalog. I think that’s a great idea to feature them again. I’m sure each one of us has gathered some little treasures over time that are yearning for some fresh air and some ink…. that’s why today you’ll find a „Flashback Friday“ here as well 🙂

Ihr erinnert Euch an das Riesenrad aus dem SAB-Set „Nostalgie Pur“ – ich fand der kleine Heißluftballon aus dem letzten Frühjahrs-Mini Stempelset „Collage-Curious“ passte ganz prima dazu.

You might remember the Ferris Wheel from the last Sale-A-Bration – I thought the little hot air balloon from the spring catalog stampset „Collage Curious“ would fit perfectly with it.

Ich kann es kaum glauben, dass mein „Baby“ jetzt schon 7 Jahre alt ist! Mensch wie die Zeit vergeht!

I can hardy believe that my „baby“ just turned 7! Time is flying!

Dieses Mal stand die Geburtstagsparty ganz unter dem hippen Motto „Angry Birds“ – Silas hat wie immer genau gewußt, wie die Einladungen aussehen sollen und Mama hat ihr Bestes gegeben, alle Voraussetzungen zu erfüllen, um den „Beste Mama der Welt Preis“ erhalten zu können. 😉 Aber  ich musste nicht alleine basteln, sondern hatte Hilfe vom kleinen Meister persönlich, der fleißig mitgestanzt und zusammengeklebt hat bis alle Einladungen fertig waren. Und das ist dabei heraus gekommen:

This year the party had a fancy „Angry Birds“ theme – and as always Silas knew exactly how he wanted the invitations to look like. Of course mommy did her best to fulfill all the requirements to pass the „best mommy in the world award“. 😉  But  I didn’t have to craft on my own – I had help from the little master himself who helped punching and gluing until the cards were all done and ready to be send. And this is how they turned out:

Hier noch einmal der wütende Vogel von nächster Nähe – könnt Ihr erkennen, welche Stanzen alle zum Einsatz kamen? Den Hintergrund habe ich mit der BigShot und dem neuen Prägefolder „Wolkenmeer“ aus dem Frühjahrskatalog von SU geprägt.

Und natürlich musste der Kuchen zum Themen-Look passen – oh Mann, das war eine Arbeit, denn ich hatte nur eine Spritztülle und musste diese ständig austauschen und auswaschen – aber nach durchwachter Nacht habe ich es dann doch noch geschafft und das Geburtstagskind war glücklich. 🙂

And of course the cake had to fit the fancy party theme – oh my goodness – that took quite some effort since I was working with only one decorating tip – I had to constantly exchange it and wash it in order to switch the different colors – but at least it worked well enough to make my birthday boy all happy! 🙂

Man sieht es immer wieder auf diverse kreativen Blogs, dass die Leute Bilder zeigen, von denen sie sich haben inspirieren lassen…

I’ve seen again and again that people show pictures on their creative blogs that inspired their art work…

Ich mache das heute ein bisschen anders: Ich zeige Euch ein Bild, dass mich im Nachhinein an Karten erinnert hat, die ich von anderen kreativem Köpfen abgekupfert habe 🙂

I am going to do that too – just a little diffrent: Today I am going to show you a picture that reminded me after the fact of some cards that I cased from other creative minds 🙂

Also wenn ich nicht so eine ehrliche Haut wäre, dann hättet ihr mir glatt glauben können, dass das Foto meiner kleinen Prinzessin als Inspiration gedient hat, oder? 😉

Weil mir die Idee von Jenni so gut gefallen hat, habe ich gleich eine passende Schachtel dazu gebastelt. Die Maße und eine Bastelanleitung für die Box findet Ihr bei Steffi’s Stempelwiese:

Advent, Advent ein Lichtlein brennt….

Ich hoffe, Ihr hattet einen wunderschönen ersten Advent und seid schon alle in Weihnachtsstimmung! Ich arbeite noch an der Weihnachtsstimmung, aber die Kinder sind bestimmt eine große Hilfe dabei. Gestern haben wir Briefe an den Weihnachtsmann geschrieben – Silas, der jetzt in der 1. Klasse ist hat seinen Brief in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal selbst verfasst – sehr amüsant und ich konnte es mir nicht verkneifen, diesen Brief für die Zukunft zu bewahren, bevor er zum Nordpol geschickt wird 😉 (Ich bin mal gespannt, ob Ihr lesen könnt, was er sich da wünscht 😉 )

I hope you all had a beautiful first Sunday of this year’s Christmas Season – we call it the First Advent – and I hope you are already full of the wonderful Christmas Spirit! Well, quite frankly, I am stil working on the Christmas Spirit part but my kids are definitely helping. Yesterday we wrote letters to Santa Claus – Silas who is in 1st grade now wrote his letter all by himself this year – very cute and I couldn’t resist on preserving his letter for the future before sending it to the North Pole 😉 (You might not quite get the entertainment factor this letter holds since it is written in something close to German – but maybe you can enjoy the artistic factor of it 😉 )

Und was so ein echter Sohn einer Stampin‘ Up! Demonstratorin ist, der muss natürlich auch ein bisschen stempeln und stanzen – die Briefmarke ist doch echt passend, oder? 😉

And since he is the son of a true Stampin’Up! demonstrator he had to also use some stamps and punches – isn’t the stamp just perfect? 😉

Inspiriert von meinem 6-jährigen Sohn habe ich mich dann an meine Weihnachtskarten gemacht – die Idee hatte ich schon lange, bin nur bisher nicht zur Umsetzung gekommen. Aber wie immer habe ich mal wieder feststellen müssen, das die Idee zwar wirklich gut funktioniert, für die Massenproduktion aber völlig ungeeignet ist, da jede Karte viel zu aufwändig ist. Dieses Werk wird also wohl ein Unikat bleiben und ich muss mir für meine Weihnachtskarten etwas anderes überlegen 😉

Inspired by my 6 year old son I finally started the production of our family Christmas cards – well – I already had the idea for the layout long time ago but never got started on really creating it. Today I finally got to it but had to realize yet again (like many other times before) that it is totally unfit for mass production since it is way too elaborate and time consuming. So I guess it will remain a one of a kind and I will have to come up with something else for my Christmas card production 😉

Hope you had a Happy Halloween!

Nun ist es also wirklich vorbei –  Die Kürbisse wurden geschnitzt und die Kinder waren total begeistert von der reichlichen Ausbeute an Süßigkeiten, die sie zu Halloween „erbetteln“ konnten.

So  Halloween is really over now! We carved the pumpkins and our children were super excited about all the candy they were able to „beg“ for on Halloween night.

Da meine Söhne beide in eine internationale Schule bzw. Kita gehen, ist Halloween da eine ganz große Sache. Dieses Jahr habe ich das erste Mal eine Kleinigkeit für die Lehrer gebastelt, die ich Euch gerne zeigen wollte:

Since both of my sons are attending an international school and kindergarden Halloween is a pretty big thing for them. This year was the first time that I made a litte treat for their teachers as well that I wanted to share with you:

Weil ich in meiner Praxis am „Gruseltag“  auch noch meine wöchentliche Team-Besprechung hatte, haben meine Angestellten auch so einen gefüllten „Gruselbonbon“ bekommen und die Süßigkeiten waren für unsere kleinen Patienten, die zu ihrer logopädischen Behandlung kamen 🙂

Since I also was holding my weekly team-meeting with all of my employeed in the practice on Halloween day, they also received one of these „spooky treats“ and the sweets sourrounding them were given to our little patients who came for their speech therapy sessions. 🙂
