Inspiration im Nachhinein… / Inspiration after the fact…

Man sieht es immer wieder auf diverse kreativen Blogs, dass die Leute Bilder zeigen, von denen sie sich haben inspirieren lassen…

I’ve seen again and again that people show pictures on their creative blogs that inspired their art work…

Ich mache das heute ein bisschen anders: Ich zeige Euch ein Bild, dass mich im Nachhinein an Karten erinnert hat, die ich von anderen kreativem Köpfen abgekupfert habe 🙂

I am going to do that too – just a little diffrent: Today I am going to show you a picture that reminded me after the fact of some cards that I cased from other creative minds 🙂

Also wenn ich nicht so eine ehrliche Haut wäre, dann hättet ihr mir glatt glauben können, dass das Foto meiner kleinen Prinzessin als Inspiration gedient hat, oder? 😉

Weil mir die Idee von Jenni so gut gefallen hat, habe ich gleich eine passende Schachtel dazu gebastelt. Die Maße und eine Bastelanleitung für die Box findet Ihr bei Steffi’s Stempelwiese:

Since I loved Jenni’s idea I made a little box that fit her design. You can find the measurements and a video tutorial for the box at Steffi’s Stempelwiese (in  German!):

Bei einem Bastelabend mit Freunden haben wir eine andere Karte nachgebastelt, die ich bei Jenni gesehen habe, die aber von einer ihrer Teamkolleginnen entworfen wurde – keine Ahnung von wem – melde Dich, wenn Du Dein Werk wieder erkennst, dann kann ich Dich verlinken. At a workshop with friend we cased another similar card I had seen on Jenni’s Blog that was created by one of her team memberts – I have no clue who it was – so contact me if you recognize your beautiful creation and I can link your blog! … was ist bloß mit Weihnachten passiert ?! 😉 Ich kann nur so viel sagen – wir waren alle krank – und bis heute reichen wir uns scheinbar die Viren hin und her. Am schlimmsten war es für mich als die Kleine so krank war, dass sie nur noch geröchelt hat. Aber sie ist ’ne tapfere Kämpferin und hat alles gut überstanden. Jetzt teilen sich die Jungs noch alle Viren, die sie in Schule und Kita so finden können, aber ich gebe die Hoffnung nicht auf, dass  die Erkältungswelle irgendwannauch uns verläßt! Von mir aus kann’s jetzt Frühling werden und wieder wärmer!

..whatever happened  to Christmas?! 😉 I can only tell you that we’ve been sick a whole lot and even until today we seem to be inviting all sorts of viruses into our home. The worst was seeing my little girl so sick and stuffy that she had a hard time breathing. But she is a strong little lady and survived it all. Now the boys are still exchanging all the sicknesses they can pick up in school and kindergarten but I keep hoping that there will be better times and we will all be healthy someday! I think it’s time for spring and some nicer weather!

Aber jetzt hab ich genug gestöhnt – wird Zeit, dass ich Euch mal wieder etwas Kreatives zeige. Meine Kreativität hat im Dezember und Januar zwar mächtig gelitten, aber wenigstens zum Valentinstag musste ich doch wieder aktiv werden und meinem Mann eine Karte werkeln:

But enough whining for today – it’s about time that you get to see something creative. As you can imagine my creativity had to take a back seat for December and January but then there was Valentine’s Day and I had to at least get back into my crafting mode to make a card for my dear husband:

Dieses Jahr habe ich mir das Ziel gesetzt, schon im Sommer damit anzufangen – Aber man weiß ja, was mit guten Vorsätzen in der Regel so passiert! 😉 Wir werden sehen – Ihr dürft mich alle gerne im Juli an dieses Ziel erinnern!

What did I learn from my past months experiences? That you should start making your Christmas cards before flu season hits! This year one of my New Year’s resolutions is to start in summer already – oh well – but we all know what way to often happens to New Year’s resolutions! 😉 Let’s hope and see – Feel free to remind me in July 😉

Advent, Advent ein Lichtlein brennt….

Ich hoffe, Ihr hattet einen wunderschönen ersten Advent und seid schon alle in Weihnachtsstimmung! Ich arbeite noch an der Weihnachtsstimmung, aber die Kinder sind bestimmt eine große Hilfe dabei. Gestern haben wir Briefe an den Weihnachtsmann geschrieben – Silas, der jetzt in der 1. Klasse ist hat seinen Brief in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal selbst verfasst – sehr amüsant und ich konnte es mir nicht verkneifen, diesen Brief für die Zukunft zu bewahren, bevor er zum Nordpol geschickt wird 😉 (Ich bin mal gespannt, ob Ihr lesen könnt, was er sich da wünscht 😉 )

I hope you all had a beautiful first Sunday of this year’s Christmas Season – we call it the First Advent – and I hope you are already full of the wonderful Christmas Spirit! Well, quite frankly, I am stil working on the Christmas Spirit part but my kids are definitely helping. Yesterday we wrote letters to Santa Claus – Silas who is in 1st grade now wrote his letter all by himself this year – very cute and I couldn’t resist on preserving his letter for the future before sending it to the North Pole 😉 (You might not quite get the entertainment factor this letter holds since it is written in something close to German – but maybe you can enjoy the artistic factor of it 😉 )

Und was so ein echter Sohn einer Stampin‘ Up! Demonstratorin ist, der muss natürlich auch ein bisschen stempeln und stanzen – die Briefmarke ist doch echt passend, oder? 😉

And since he is the son of a true Stampin’Up! demonstrator he had to also use some stamps and punches – isn’t the stamp just perfect? 😉

Inspiriert von meinem 6-jährigen Sohn habe ich mich dann an meine Weihnachtskarten gemacht – die Idee hatte ich schon lange, bin nur bisher nicht zur Umsetzung gekommen. Aber wie immer habe ich mal wieder feststellen müssen, das die Idee zwar wirklich gut funktioniert, für die Massenproduktion aber völlig ungeeignet ist, da jede Karte viel zu aufwändig ist. Dieses Werk wird also wohl ein Unikat bleiben und ich muss mir für meine Weihnachtskarten etwas anderes überlegen 😉

Inspired by my 6 year old son I finally started the production of our family Christmas cards – well – I already had the idea for the layout long time ago but never got started on really creating it. Today I finally got to it but had to realize yet again (like many other times before) that it is totally unfit for mass production since it is way too elaborate and time consuming. So I guess it will remain a one of a kind and I will have to come up with something else for my Christmas card production 😉

Mein erster Workshop nach Baby-Pause (2.Teil)

Heute zeige ich Euch nun mein Halloween-Projekt für den letzten Workshop: Eine Double-Slider Schokoladenverpackung.Die Idee habe ich Euch ja schon einmal zum Muttertag gezeigt mit einem Link zu einer Video-Anleitung. In Verbindung mit dem neuen Stempelset „Googly Ghouls“ eignet sich diese Art Verpackung besonders gut für Halloween. Warum? Seht selbst:

Today I’ll show you my second project for last weeks workshop: A double slider chocolate wrapper. I already showed you one for Mother’s Day including a link to a video tutorial. And with the new stamp set „Googly Ghouls“ this kind of chocolate wrapper is just perfect for Halloween. Why? Let me show you:

Das ist der „erste Eindruck“ einer ganz „normalen“ Schokoladenverpackung. Aber zieht man an der Lasche „Grusel Grüße“, dann….

So here is your „first impression“ of a pretty „normal“ chocolate wrapper. But once you pull on the tag with the lable „Treats for Boo“ , then…

„Boo!“ 🙂 Ich bin ja eigentlich nicht so ein Halloween-Fan und hatte eigentlich nicht vor, damit anzufangen, aber dieses Stempelset ist einfach zu niedlich!

„Boo!“ 🙂 I really never cared for Halloween and had no intention of starting to create anything for it – but – this stamp set is just way too cute!

Und dann noch die Wackelaugen, die Stampin‘ Up! jetzt im Herbst-Winterkatalog hat – für nur 2,95€! Da konnte ich nicht widerstehen 😉

Ich habe Euch eine Liste mit allen Materialien und den dazugehörigen Bestellnummern angefügt. Der Mechanismus läßt sich natürlich beliebig auf alle möglichen Farben, Motive usw. übertragen. Ich hoffe, meine Anweisungen machen Sinn – solltet Ihr Fragen habe, dann meldet Euch und ich werde versuchen, alle Unklarheiten zu beseitigen 🙂

I created a written tutorial again with a list of all materials needed. (only in German though!) Feel free to use the card mechanism with all sorts of CS, DP or stamp sets. …war am vergangenen Freitagabend und es ist doch erstaunlich gut gegangen. Das verdanke ich vorallem dem Ehemann der Gastgeberin, der spontan dafür gesorgt hat, dass meine winzige Bastelmaus ausreichend bespaßt wurde. Danke Antonio –  Du bist ein großartiger Babysitter!

This past Friday was my first workshop after a short „baby break“. It went pretty well – special thanks goes to the dear husband of the hostess who jumped in and made sure my little stamping queen was kept entertained and happy  – Thanks Antonio – you were a great babysitter!

Gewünscht war das Thema „Verpackungen“ für kleine Geschenke – gerade auch in Vorbereitung auf Halloween und Weihnachten.

The theme was crafted treat holders – especially in preparation for Halloween and Christmas.

Heute zeige ich Euch ersteinmal das kleine Weihnachtsgeschenk – eine Verpackung für heiße Schokolade. (Cappuccino usw. gehen natürlich auch 😉 ):

Die Idee für diese´s Projekt habe ich von einer amerikanischen Demokollegin, Dawn Olchefske – Sie hat auch ein Video-Tutorial dazu gemacht (natürlich in Englisch) und ich habe mich hingesetzt und versucht, Euch die Anleitung aufzuschreiben, damit Ihr etwas zum abheften und behalten habt – In Verbindung mit Dawn’s Video werden meine Anweisungen vielleicht sogar verständlich 😉 Außerdem findet Ihr in der PDF-Datei eine genaue Auflistung aller benötigten Materialien mit Bestellnummer.

I found the idea for this cool little treat pouch on Dawn Olchefske’s blog. She is a fellow Stampin’Up! Demonstrator and made a video tutorial for you to follow. Since it is in English I tried to translate it into German for those who might find it hard to follow the English instructions – I guess watching the video will still help to make sense of what I wrote 😉 The PDF-File also includes a list of all materials needed. (all in German, of course)
