Ein „Schüttel-Stern“

Heute zeige ich Euch mal meine erste Schüttelkarte und die erste Weihnachtskarte, die ich in diesem Jahr gebastelt habe.

Today I am going to show you my first shaker card and the first Christmas card I made this year.

Bis auf den Gruß wurde da nichts gestempelt, sondern nur gestanzt und geklebt – schlicht und durch das Glitzerpapier dennoch edel, oder?

With the exception of the greeting I didn’t use any stamps just punches and glue – clean and simple but still fancy, don’t you think?

Schüttel-Stern

Ich hätte im Nachhinein vielleicht doch noch den Hintergrund ein wenig embossen oder statt VanillePur den cremeweißen Cardstock, der etwas gesprenkelt ist, benutzen sollen, aber so geht es auch, denke ich.

Looking at it a couple of days later I might have preferred embossing the background a bit or should have used a creme cardstock instead of VeryVanilla since it is not as plain, maybe?!

… Da gab es noch so einer Karte, in die ich mich gleich verliebt habe, als ich sie das erste Mal sah. Mal wieder von meiner „Stempel-Mama“ Steffi. Und als der Geburtstag meiner Mutter nahte, die Mohnblumen liebt, war ganz klar, dass „Steffi’s Karte“ her musste – also habe ich gnadenlos „geklaut“ 😉

Since I talked about „casing“ a card in my last blog post …. there was yet another card I totally fell in love with when I first saw it – this time it was one from my „upline“, Steffi. And since my Mom loves poppies it was more than obvious that I just had to „steal“ the idea when her Birthday came along.

Mir hat’s so gut gefallen, dass ich sie gleich zweimal gewerkelt habe und ich glaube, das war nicht das letzte Mal 😉 Meine Mutter hat sich jedenfalls riesig gefreut und ich hoffe, Euch gefällt sie auch. Danke Steffi, für Deine tollen kreativen Inspirationen!

I liked it too much to make just one card and made two instead and I am quite certain that more will follow 😉 My Mother loved it and I hope you enjoy it as well. Thanks again Steffi for your creative inspirations!

Auch wenn man überall schon wunderschöne Weihnachtskarten sieht und ich mir ja auch eigentlich fest vorgenommen hatte, schon im August mit der „Weihnachtsproduktion“ zu beginnen, fällt es mir wirklich schwer, mich weihnachtlich „einzustimmen“. Also kommt heute noch mal eine blumige Geburtstagskarte mit dem wunderschönen Stempelsets „Flower Shop“ (130942) und „Papillon Potpourri“ (123759), die man so toll kombinieren kann.

Even though there are beautiful Christmas Cards all over the web and was determined to start my „Christmas Card production“ in August already, I find it somehow really difficult to get into the „Christmas Spirit“. That’s why instead I am going to show you a flowery Birthday Card using the gorgeous stampsets „Flower Shop“ (130942) and „Papillon Potpourri“ (123759) which are easy to combine.

Ich habe die Idee zu dieser Karte von Brandy, einer amerikanischen Demo-Kollegin und wollte Ihr Karte immer mal nachwerkeln. Auf ihrem Blog findet ihr eine Videoanleitung, wo Brandy euch durch die einzelnen Arbeitsschritte führt – ihr könntet theoretisch parallel zum Video mitbasteln. Natürlich alles in Englisch, aber das sollte kein Problem sein. Meine Karte ist eigentlich ganz ähnlich, nur habe ich die Schmetterlinge dazu gemogelt, die Farben etwas verändert und einen anderen Gruß gewählt. 😉

I am casing a card from Brandy, an American fellow demonstrator. You can find a video-tutorial on her blog that you can theoretically just follow along to create your own card while you’re watching it. My card is pretty much the same as hers. I only changed the colors a bit, added the butterflies and used a different stampset for the greeting 😉

Die Farben der Blumen sind die neuen In-Colorfarben „Honiggelb“ (133643), „Lagunenblau“ (133644) und „Himbeermousse“ (133642). Der Gruss ist aus der englischen Version des Stempelsets „Famose Fähnchen“ (128267) – dort heißt es „Itty Bitty Banners“ (126257). Die untere Reihe Blumen habe ich am Stück mit der Hand ausgeschnitten, die oberen dann mit der Stanze „Stiefmütterchen“ (130698) ausgestanzt und mit den „Stampin‘ Dimesionals“ (104430) befestigt.

For the flowers I used the new In-Colors „Hello Honey“ (133643), „Lost Lagoon“ (133644) und „Blackberry Bliss“ (133642). The greeting is from the stampset „Itty Bitty Banners“ (126257). I cut parts of the flowers (the row that isn’t „popped up“) by hand, the single flowers I punched out with the „Pansy Punch“ (130698) and used the „Stampin‘ Dimesionals“ (104430) to make them pop-up a little.

Die kleinen Schmetterlinge habe ich mit der Stanze „Mini-Schmetterling“ (129409) ausgestanzt und mit „Mini-Klebepunkten“ (103683) befestigt. Das Innere der Blumen sind Pünktchen, die ich mit meiner Crop-A-Dile aus dem silbernen „Glitzerpapier“ (135314) ausgestanzt habe und der Hintergrund ist mit dem Prägefolder „Honigwaben“ (129378) durch die Bigshot genudelt worden.

The small Butterfly was punched out with the „Bitty-Butterfly“ Punch (129409) and adhered with the „Mini-Gluedots“ (103683). I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch out the little dots in the middle of my flowers from the beautiful silver „Glimmerpaper“ (135314) and I used the „Honeycomb“ embossing folder (129378) for the Background.

Ein Mini-Album – Achtung: viele Fotos!

Nach den vielen „geschäftlichen“ Posts wird’s mal wieder Zeit für etwas Kreatives, oder?! 😉

After all the many „business“ posts it ist about time for something more creative, don‘ t you think? 😉

Heute möchte ich Euch ein Projekt zeigen, an dem ich den Sommer über gearbeitet habe und in das mein ganzes Herzblut geflossen ist – Ein Mini-Album zum Geburtstag meiner Mutter.

Today I want to show you a project that I spent most of the summer on and that came straight from my heart – a mini-scrapbook for my mom’s birthday.

Die Idee dazu kam mir von Delia , die vor einer Weile eine wunderbare Anleitung zu diesem Album auf ihren Blog gestellt hat. Ihr findet sie *hier*. Eigentlich habe ich das Layout ziemlich genau kopiert, allerdings habe ich noch Glitzerpapier in Silber für den extra „Bling-Effekt“ benutzt und  das neue Stempelset „Gorgeous Grunge“ wurde eingeweiht – eins meiner absoluten Lieblingssets!

I got the idea for this album from Delia, who posted her Album and some beautiful instructions on her blog some time ago. You can find the instructions *here*. I pretty much copied her layout but used some silver glimmer paper for the extra *bling-effect“ and also made use of the new „Gorgeous Grunge“ stamp set – which by the way I REALLY fell in love with!

Das  „Happy Hello -Simply Sent Kartenset“, aus dem das Mini gebastelt wurde, gibt es übrigens noch in der „Restekiste“ im Online-Shop zu ergattern. Aus einem Kartenpaket lassen sich zwei Alben gestalten!

Das Album ist eigentlich aus dem Briefumschlägen gemacht und so hat jede Seite eine Tasche, die Platz für eine Karte bietet, welche man ebenfalls noch mit Fotos oder Text füllen kann.

The album is made from the envelopes of the Card Kit and so each page has a pocket for a card which you can fill with additional pictures or journaling.

Die Fotos zeigen Bilder meiner Mutter und den Menschen, die ihr viel bedeuten von frühster Kindheit an bis zu dem Zeitpunkt ihrer Hochzeit. Die Originalbilder waren zu meist ziemlich klein und schon recht mitgenommen. Ich habe alle eingescannt, etwas bearbeitet und dann meist größer und schöner wieder ausgedruckt, so dass die Originale nicht beschädigt wurden.

The pictures in the Album Show my mom and People in her life who mean alot to her, starting in her early childhood up to the time of her wedding. The original photographs were mostly very small and pretty worn. I scanned them all in, cleaned them up a little and then printed them  out again so that the originals weren’t damaged.

Hinter dem kleinen Umschlag verbirgt sich ein weiteres Mini-Album mit weiteren Fotos drin.

You can untie the small envelope just to find an other mini-album with a couple more pictures.

Auf der letzten Seite ist ein großer Umschlag in dem ich eine CD mit allen eingescannten Fotos versteckt habe – das waren noch viel mehr als die, die ich dann schließlich verscrapped habe.

On the last page is a big envelope that I used for storing a CD with all the pictures I scanned in – way more than I finally used in the Album.

Ich glaube, das war eines der aufwendigsten Projekte, die ich bisher in Angriff genommen habe, aber ich glaube, es hat sich gelohnt! 😉

I think this was one of the most intense projects I’ve gotten myself into so far, but I think it was worth it! 😉

Advent, Advent ein Lichtlein brennt….

Ich hoffe, Ihr hattet einen wunderschönen ersten Advent und seid schon alle in Weihnachtsstimmung! Ich arbeite noch an der Weihnachtsstimmung, aber die Kinder sind bestimmt eine große Hilfe dabei. Gestern haben wir Briefe an den Weihnachtsmann geschrieben – Silas, der jetzt in der 1. Klasse ist hat seinen Brief in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal selbst verfasst – sehr amüsant und ich konnte es mir nicht verkneifen, diesen Brief für die Zukunft zu bewahren, bevor er zum Nordpol geschickt wird 😉 (Ich bin mal gespannt, ob Ihr lesen könnt, was er sich da wünscht 😉 )

I hope you all had a beautiful first Sunday of this year’s Christmas Season – we call it the First Advent – and I hope you are already full of the wonderful Christmas Spirit! Well, quite frankly, I am stil working on the Christmas Spirit part but my kids are definitely helping. Yesterday we wrote letters to Santa Claus – Silas who is in 1st grade now wrote his letter all by himself this year – very cute and I couldn’t resist on preserving his letter for the future before sending it to the North Pole 😉 (You might not quite get the entertainment factor this letter holds since it is written in something close to German – but maybe you can enjoy the artistic factor of it 😉 )

Und was so ein echter Sohn einer Stampin‘ Up! Demonstratorin ist, der muss natürlich auch ein bisschen stempeln und stanzen – die Briefmarke ist doch echt passend, oder? 😉

And since he is the son of a true Stampin’Up! demonstrator he had to also use some stamps and punches – isn’t the stamp just perfect? 😉

Inspiriert von meinem 6-jährigen Sohn habe ich mich dann an meine Weihnachtskarten gemacht – die Idee hatte ich schon lange, bin nur bisher nicht zur Umsetzung gekommen. Aber wie immer habe ich mal wieder feststellen müssen, das die Idee zwar wirklich gut funktioniert, für die Massenproduktion aber völlig ungeeignet ist, da jede Karte viel zu aufwändig ist. Dieses Werk wird also wohl ein Unikat bleiben und ich muss mir für meine Weihnachtskarten etwas anderes überlegen 😉

Inspired by my 6 year old son I finally started the production of our family Christmas cards – well – I already had the idea for the layout long time ago but never got started on really creating it. Today I finally got to it but had to realize yet again (like many other times before) that it is totally unfit for mass production since it is way too elaborate and time consuming. So I guess it will remain a one of a kind and I will have to come up with something else for my Christmas card production 😉
